Long Lane FC v Maidstone United FC

Sunday 13th March, 10.30am KO

at Sittingbourne Football Club’s stadium, Woodstock Park.


The first round saw Long Lane Junior Girls almost knocked out of the competition after a 4-4 draw at full-time lead to a penalty shoot-out. The Long Lane Junior Girls saw off their challengers, Petts Wood FC though, and went through to the Quarter Finals winning 3-2 on penalties.


Maidstone United Girls received a bye in the first round, and entered the competition at the Quarter Finals. Their first match set the standard high, winning with a huge 9-0 score margin against Swale Ladies.


Long Lane went into their Quarter Final match fighting against Dartford FC, and progressed through to the Semi’s with a 2 goal lead as their contest finished 5-3 at full time.


In their respective semi-final matches, both team showed themselves to be deserved cup finalists as Maidstone United succeeded with a 12-0 win over Tigers FC; and Long Lane Junior Girls saw off Anchorians FC with a 3-0 win.
