Ladies World Cup hero visits the Foots Cray Lions on match day.

December 9, 2015

The Foots Cray Lions u13 Girls were lucky enough to have a visit from the Chelsea Ladies captain and England World Cup bronze medal winner, Katie Chapman.

The girls u13 team were only formed last season and out performed all expectation to gain promotion, losing just 3 league games in the 2014-15 season and reaching a cup semi final.

Life in the top division of KGLFL however has proved a much tougher task for the girls having lost all of their games so far this season but with wonderful team spirit and determination to progress the girls have been training twice a week to improve in all areas.

Having heard of last season success and this season's struggle Katie Chapman arrived at this weekend's game to wish all the girls well.

Katie must have brought the team some good luck as they managed to secure their first league win, with a 2-0 victory.

The photo was taken at half-time when Katie simply told the girls to

"help each other and play with a smile on your face"

That must of done the trick !

A huge thank you to Katie for taking the time to visit the girls from all at Foots Cray Lions.
